beautylish 2017 lucky bag

hi guys! guess what finally came in today?! w00t! ~Lin-chan ^.~

viseart bijou royal, kissing tiny flowers

kissing tiny flowers
  1. viseart bijou royal eyeshadow palette (ret. $80) -- omg guys. this palette alone basically paid for the entire box. and it's beautiful. relative to the two i already have this one is so much better. the color selection and pigmentation are great. this is definitely a better supplementary palette than the paris nudes and sultry muse palettes.
  2. bioderma sensibio mini (ret. $6.95) -- yay for another mini bioderma!!
    • oribe wave and shine spray (ret. $22) -- i'm not huge into the beach waves sprays, but i'll give this a try. it has a very nice smell, but after a bit it smells a bit chemically. i'll give this a go, but i don't foresee myself buying another of these. i mean $22 for 2oz?!
    • rcma no color powder (ret. $12) -- i have been wanting to try this for a while, but never actually went out of my way to buy some. so i can't wait to give it a try! there are mixed reviews about how well it works after pressing this into a pan, but considering how much is in this jar and how (relatively) cheap this product is, whatever. i'm willing to try it pressed.
    • smith & cult the tainted lip stained in kissing tiny flowers (ret. $24) -- this is a really nice color. the texture is very mousse-y and almost dries all the way down. not sure about the staining effect yet, since i haven't let it sit long enough, but i'm interested. also, this has a very strong chocolate scent.
    • (chikuhodo?) powder brush -- this brush has no brand name or tags, aside from the word 'powder' on it. ...ok? it is really soft, but i think these are synthetic. to some degree they feel a slightly more coarse than my wayne goss blue squirrel brushes, but i don't think they're real hair. i could be totally wrong though. i can't wait to give this brush a go. and i love the shimmery red handle!

    beautylish 2015 bold lucky bag

hi guys! just after christmas beautylish held their annual sale on their lucky bags, which were $75 for $150+ worth of products. this time, they had 3 different choices: natural, bold, and mua (makeup artist). i decided to be adventurous and got the bold bag. ~Lin-chan ^.~

    rcma palette
    pebble & smoky teal (swatched over milani eye primer);
afternoon delight patted over milani eye primer (left) & (right) swatched with included brush and clearly liquid glitter base
    1. indie lee coq-10 toner (ret. $32) -- i'm game for trying out new toners. granted, this one is more expensive than clinique, but we shall try it!
      • kinda weirded out by this. not the product, but the packaging and shipping. when i opened up the package, the box for this product was wet, but the bottle was completely sealed and dry. wut. really confused.
      • update: i'm not totally sure about this..fragrance in mah skincare........
    2. bliss lemon + sage body butter (ret. $29) -- i love lemon and herb type scents. i'm not certain about using such a scent on the whole body, but ok. i'll try it.
    3. lit cosmetics summer sparkle lit kit in afternoon delight (ret. $13) -- i've never tried the lit kits and i was kinda but not totally interested in them. i'm not huge into applying chunky glitter to my skin so i was halfway about this product. but i think that this glitter is milled small enough that it'll be ok. i definitely think that you should use the included glitter base--otherwise it won't stick to your skin! the brush that was included was pretty crappy and made application awkward.
      • be careful opening up the glitter if you get one of these. the sifter doesn't have a sticker on it, and a lot of glitter is sitting on the sifter.
    4. kevyn aucoin the eyeshadow duo in 214 (pebble/smoky teal) (ret. $42) -- this duo is so pretty in the pan. but swatching it, the teal was meh. the pebble is a nice all-over shade, but teal did not want to swatch nicely, i had to build it up.
    5. rcma series favorites palette highlight/contour (ret. $30) -- i've been wanting to try an rcma concealer palette for a while now and now i can! this is really creamy and super blendable, but it seems like it needs powdering to set, otherwise it will move.
    6. inglot colour play mascara in blue (ret. $13) -- i haven't tried anything inglot before (i've been wanting to try their shadows!), but i'm super excited that they sent me blue. >w< i generally use colored mascaras on the lower lashes.
    7. wayne goss eye brush 17 (ret. $32) -- w00t. another wayne goss brush! super amazing awesome. it's a little bit bigger than i like using for an all over shadow brush, but we will make it work! (i prefer brushes similar to sigma's E55)
    approximate product value: ~$191
