collective haul: sephora and other purchases

hi. 🙋 my name is lindsay, and i have a problem: i hit rouge status again...in july. 🙊
if i miss discussing certain items photographed in this post, it's because they're all repurchases that i've talked about at least a handful of times before in the past. ~Lindsay ^.~

i'm not really sure what the hype with this kush mascara is... it's good, but like it's kind of dry compared to other mascaras, and performs ok-ish. every time i wore it, it'd flake and i'd have random black spots or streaks on my face.... i have been liking this sample of boscia's cactus water moisturizer! it's an interesting texture.

i'm not going to lie, i definitely bought this inner beauty favorites set for the bottle. i know. that's super sad. but i wanted to try it and have oneeeee. and the fenty liner is pretty awesome. i kind of wish it was a brush tip, but given the formula it's understandable that it's a felt tip.

i'm also finally on the estee lauder double wear bandwagon. i tried it for the first time just the other day and it's a lot more lightweight than the double wear light---which by name makes no sense, but you know... 💁 i'm in the shade 1w2 for those wondering. also, for as much as i kinda criticized the idea of redeeming this 250 point perk, the notebook and pen are actually nice. i love this type of pen!

had i hauled the bum bum bath bombas before...? they're amazing, but $10 each is expensive! so be sure to wait for sephora sales!

also, i had a sample of the clinique acne+line correcting serum, it's nice. i also got a sample of the new ddm jelly and i don't like it. i didn't feel like it did much for me, so it got passed along. and because i got them on the same trip, pictured here are the loreal brow stylist and febreze unstopables melts in shimmer (like the downy unstopables for your laundry). this brow gel is not the same as the previous and i'm not sure how i feel about it yet.

got a few things from sally's, target(?), and urban decay as well! i love these hair masks! and they were on sale at the time that i ordered them! these are the "OG" ones, not the new masks that aren't good whatsoever. then from urban decay, i redeemed my birthday sin highlighter...again. and i got another primer potion and their new-ish waterliner in legend. from sephora, i got an old favorite - buxom foundation in dim the light, the estee lauder double wear concealer in warm light, as well as the ordinary.'s makeup primer. i ended up passing the face primer along, because i couldn't deal with the scent.

a few more ulta things that i missed! also, i'm pretty sure i've converted to drunk elephant. the tlc sukari babyfacial is awesome!
and i also got a lot of goodies from beautylish. i was running low on parian spirit, and i needed more of the ordinary.'s salicylic acid. i also grabbed one of their retinoids to try. i tried out this clean apothecary brush shampoo, it works well enough, but i didn't try foundation-caked brushes in it yet. and i think this oribe dry shampoo was a freebie? i didn't order it, but it got passed along since i don't use them often enough.

it cosmetics has having a friends and family sale at the time i ordered this..if i remember right. got two favorites!

1. makeup forever artist face color in B302 -- this is a really pretty color, kinda reminiscent of nars orgasm or something, but it's not really a blush color for me. blended out on my hand with a finger swatch - it seems more like a highlighter instead of a blush.repurchase? probably not, maybe other colors
2. anastasia beverly hills lip gloss in kristen -- passing this along because no glosses!
   repurchase? no
3. glamglow supercleanse -- i've had samples of this in the past and i really liked it. granted, it wasn't enough to use for a week and make a full decision on... but i did like this product.
   repurchase? maybe
4. clinique pep-start eye cream -- i think i tried this shortly after it came out and wasn't really wowed by it, so i'm going to pass this along.
   repurchase? no
5. boscia exfoliating peel gel -- i haven't gotten to use this yet, but i'm interested!

6. gloss moderne clean luxury masque -- did i use this already?? i'm trying to go through my hair samples and use them, and i can't remember if i used this one or not.....

july 2017: sephora play!

hi guys!!! the weekend's here, i've finally got some time, and here's this month's sephora play! (theme: beauty staycation) ~Lin-chan ^.~

bare minerals swag

1. bareminerals gen nude matte liquid lipcolor in swag -- this is pretty close to my natural lip color and looks nice. it dries down to a slightly powdery feel and doesn't feel like it's drying.
   repurchase? undecided
2. briogeo roscaro milk reparative leave-in conditioning spray -- i received one or two of these in the past and i liked them, but they weren't game changers by any means. i'll pass this one along.
   repurchase? nah
3. it cosmetics superhero mascara -- this was already in a past favorites!
   repurchase? yes!
4. milk makeup cooling water -- this feels nice, but it takes a bit to dry down. i'll have to try this out on a puffier day though.
   repurchase? nah
• side note - i am interested in trying out tony moly's panda's dream cooling stick!
5. boscia charcoal pore pudding -- so, despite the name (sorta..), this is actually a face mask. i think i've seen this before on the shelf at sephora, but never really felt the need to try it. but hey, i'm up for trying out new masks!
   repurchase? maybe
6. atelier cologne orange sanguine -- i received one (or more?) of these in the past and i really like it. 
   repurchase? probably not for the price and i don't wear perfume often.

hi guys! i didn't do much shopping this month because things got super busy with my work project and i started working like 50+ hour weeks..... and i'm not sure how things'll be in the coming months either since teh paul is starting his internship next week! w00t, more monies! also, i decided to combine my favorites into this post as well..since it's one makeup item and food. lol. along with the not shopping much, i didn't really experiment with much either. ~Lindsay-chan ^.~

sephora rouge sale: tony moly tea tree masks, boscia charcoal mask, clinique clarifying lotion 3 (one of these looks funny because i poured about half into my pump bottle), freebies: glamglow gravitymud, tarte tartiest mascara, clinique acne + line correcting serum
amazon: lamora beauty flat top kabuki in rose -- because i love the one i got at christmas, and this one is easily distinguishable from my others!

on a whim shopping trip
ulta: formula 10.0.6 clean getaway kit -- i saw this in those new $8 'favorite-esque' kits they had in the store and was only interested in this mud mask..then i saw that this kit was like $10 and it had a few other things from this brand, so why not. get to the register: it's on sale for $8! tony moly my little pet eye patches (bogo half off!!)
walmart: wet 'n wild megalast lipstick in mocha-licious, tone body wash in blissful awakening
target: adult coloring book!!! i decided to get one to try it out...and so i can use these prismacolor pencils that i bought and never used for art school

1. milani liquid eye liquid-like eyeliner pencil in black -- over the course of a few days, i decided to experiment with quite a few black eyeliner pencils on my waterline. and this one...dare i say is better than my beloved rimmel scandalEyes pencil..? it glides on super nicely and stays black all day. on one occasion, i wore it for about 8 hours, went to sleep with my makeup on (oh no!) and it was still near perfect at the 20 hour mark. wut.
2. matcha flavored pejoy -- i've never seen these before. it's like a reverse pocky, where the cream is inside the biscuit part. i'm not sure which i like better!
3. not new favorites:
1. matcha flavored pocky -- green tea all of the things!
2. philippine brand dried mangoes -- super excited that i found these at walmart, of all places. i used to only be able to get this in larger asian groceries (the ones near me are relatively small).

october 2015: sephora play!

hi guys! we've finally got our second sephora play! box in the mail! (theme: secrets to dewy skin) it was supposed to be delivered on thursday, but you know...usps sucks, so anyway..... ~Lin-chan ^.~

1. boscia detoxifying black cleanser (1oz--mini, $28 for 5oz [$5.60]) -- yay! now i've got 3 unopened bottles of this to try! lol. i think i'll pass off at least one to a friend so they can try too. this is an interesting looking product. it's a blackish grayish color, and the scent and appearance are reminiscent of michael todd's charcoal cleanser.
   repurchase? maybe
2. boscia konjac cleansing sponge with bamboo charcoal (mini, ret. $15 [$5.33 based on mini 3 pack]) -- i have the ecotools version of this sponge and i've been liking it. i've been wanting to try the boscia one, but wasn't totally into the price. comparing the two sponges when wet, the boscia one is a lot spongier and softer feeling than the ecotools one.
   repurchase? maybe
3. sephora collection pearl sheet mask (1 mask, ret. $6) -- i'm slowly getting into the whole sheet mask phenomenon. i think price wise, buying them in bulk from asian websites like imomoko or something is more cost-effective, but i'm interested in trying this out.
   repurchase? maybe
4. belif true cream aqua bomb (.34oz--mini, ret. $38 for 1.68oz [$7.69]) -- do i even need to repeat myself about this? LOVE.
5. repurchase? uh, duh.
6. fresh black tea age delay instant infusion treatment toner (.5oz--mini, ret. $48 for 4oz [$6]) -- i'm interested in trying this out. i typically use toner twice a day, but it's alcohol based and it's not exactly as good for you. so this will definitely be worth a shot, but it is kind of expensive.
   repurchase? maybe
7. dr. jart+ ceramidin day tint spf 15 (oz--mini, ret. $48 for 1.7oz [$]) -- this tint is definitely not for me. it's a little too dark and yellow toned for me. and the scent is a little off-putting. like a slightly medicinal sunscreen type smell. it's extremely familiar, but i can't place it.
   repurchase? no
8. atelier cologne collection azur - mandarine glaciale (sample, ret. $85 for 1oz) -- definitely not for me. i can smell the hints of citrus and ginger, but that's about it. it's one of those scents that i think is borderline gender neutral. it smells slightly masculine to me, and teh paul thinks it's too feminine for guys. so i'm not sure about this one!
   repurchase? no
