december & january hauls

hiya. part two of my december and january hauls: the other stuff. ~Lindsay

a beautiful mind a beautiful life -- so, i took a photo with not my book, lol. this is actually T or A's book, i actually preordered the kindle version and downloaded it the day it came out. then maybe a week or two later, i actually started reading the first section. unfortunately, i haven't had the patience to get back to reading it because of the fact that it's an ebook (using kindle for iphone), but reading just that first section prompted me to buy three physical copies for these two and my cousin. i really really need to get back to this book because i'm probably missing out on something good, but so many other things on the brain right now...
this is the item from november..? that i mentioned that i was giving to a friend as well. i actually took mine apart and gave a few of the pieces away as gifts, but i really wanted to try the dr. brandt magnetic mask, and i thought this was a pretty good price for all these items. and no, ugh, this is another skincare thing that i haven't tried using yet. #skincarebacklog ....
made an ulta order to try out these new loreal galaxy shadows. they are really pretty. i'm not as huge into full moon (gold one), but the other two...nice! then this tako mask is sooo funny. tako is japanese for octopus..as shown on the packaging, but the actual nose strip is shaped like the white thing on the tako's face. it has a bulby thing above your unibrow and then the nose part has two little wings on each side. it was pretty interesting to use and i liked it! and i also got two morphe brushes to try (M501, M530). i want to say that jaclyn hill mentioned these two as some of her favorites (a looong time ago and i noted them down), so i got them. then i got another impress nail set that i wore around christmas, which were one shine day style. i also wore a different set for new years, the kiss gel fantasy in faux real which for whatever reason i never photographed.. and i don't remember what sets these three liquid lipsticks from colourpop were from, but i bought a bunch as christmas gifts, broke them apart and saved these three for myself.

got a whole lotta random in this photo here! i decided that i haven't been washing my sponges often enough, so i wanted to get another set of real techniques erasers. these were like $2 on amazon from actual amazon (not fulfilled by!). yes, i think i'll take that and get it in two days! next, i actually ordered this with something for my sister in-law's christmas present..from china... i got a dissar purifying peel off mask because, i want to try the 'facebook' black mask. why not? at target, or maybe walmart?, i got the maybelline master prime blur and smooth primer to try. from sephora, i wanted to get the new kat von d studded kiss lipstick in bow n arrow because i really like the liquid lip version. and i think i was trying to use a gift card or use a coupon code or something, so i also got another urban decay vice liquid lipstick in amulet (love it! why's it on clearance?), and i wanted to try the ordinary.'s salicylic acid gel, and a mini belif true cream aqua bomb. and this is not really a haul item, but the lady that cuts my hair passed this hand cream along to my mom for me for christmas. i really need to go visit her again soon! lastly, because i wanted to even though i suck at hand lettering...i bought two more brush pens to play with. (tombow dual ended brush pen N15, zebra brush pen P-WF1)
amulet, bow n arrow (lipstick, liquid lipstick)
bow n arrow (studded kiss formula)
amulet
another sephora thinnng! i saw this sephora favorites selfie kit and had to get it. the tartiest liner is $24 by itself and it's full size. whatt. the marc jacobs mascara is great! i'm kinda whatever with the milk blur stick, and i'm passing the becca opal along because how many of these things have i ever gotten now... i think we're in the teens now for just opal alone. and i was interested in trying out this powder and liquid lip. as for freebies with purchase(s?), i got two tacha things and a blender cleanser solid mini. the water cream and the deep cleanse. i've tried the water cream maybe twice now, and i was very oily in the morning after, but not overly so. idk. and i haven't tried the cleanser yet. something else i haven't tried yet, but found on clearance at ulta, is this super cute tony moly set, which has a panda's dream cooling eye stick and a pocket bunny perfume bar.

january 2018: sephora play!

hi guys! i'm slowly chugging away getting these posts done for yall! here's my sephora play! for january! (theme: happy you year) ~Lindsay ^.~

B302
  1. makeup forever artist face color in B302 -- this is a really pretty color, kinda reminiscent of nars orgasm or something, but it's not really a blush color for me. blended out on my hand with a finger swatch - it seems more like a highlighter instead of a blush.repurchase? probably not, maybe other colors
  2. anastasia beverly hills lip gloss in kristen -- passing this along because no glosses!
    repurchase? no
  3. glamglow supercleanse -- i've had samples of this in the past and i really liked it. granted, it wasn't enough to use for a week and make a full decision on... but i did like this product.
    repurchase? maybe
  4. clinique pep-start eye cream -- i think i tried this shortly after it came out and wasn't really wowed by it, so i'm going to pass this along.
    repurchase? no
  5. boscia exfoliating peel gel -- i haven't gotten to use this yet, but i'm interested!
    repurchase? maybe
  6. gloss moderne clean luxury masque -- did i use this already?? i'm trying to go through my hair samples and use them, and i can't remember if i used this one or not.....
    repurchase? ???
  7. 'coupon' for an extra 50 points on the next in-store purchase

december and january planner hauls

hi guys! i decided that i bought too much stuff in december and january to split it up into two posts: (it's been a while!) one for planner stuff, one for everything else. ~Lin-chan ^.~

Planner Studio - whatever paper she uses is super awesome and i love it! the smaller sheets here are about the size of a baseball card. despite the longer wait time, i really like ordering custom colored mi'me's from her!
The Coffee Monsterz Co -- this is such a pretty kit!
Once More With Love -- had to get the washi page for the kit that came in the 2 year anniversary box!
Wonton in a Million -- all of the CNY goodies. three shops' worth.
Hurricane Randi - she was doing a christmas card swap, and since i actually made christmas cards this year, i sent her one! (btw she's doing a valentines swap too, but i don't have any v-day cards..) and she sent this card and sticker sheet back! annnd i also needed to take advantage of a sale she was having. 😉
A Happy Blue Tree -- ALL of the mini chores related stickers. all of them. this is probably the largest order i made with them!
Stickeriffic, Avalon & Ninth -- there must have been some kind of 90s theme to this month's Monthly Planner Madness sale... both of these shops had 90s themed freebies
planner stamps -- i want to say i got these at hobby lobby, but i can't remember. they came with a small acrylic block.

january 2018 ipsy bag!

hi all! i'm still slowly catching up on posting, but here's my january IPSY BAG*! (theme: game face) ~Lin-chan ^.~
  1. theBalm mary-lou manizer -- kinda happy i got this so that i could pass it along! i already have a full size. this is such a pretty highlighter and i don't use it enough! need to put it back into my rotation!
    • repurchase: won't need to
      • trust fund beauty lip scrub -- this did not want to stay on my lips while i was scrubbing..or i suck at lip scrubs. the sugar granules seemed larger than most other lip scrubs i've tried in the past.
        • repurchase: nah
          • luna cosmetics eyeshadow in juliet -- i really enjoy using the matte shade i was sent months back, and this one has a nice formula as well. not to mention a really pretty color!
            • repurchase: i have so many eyeshadows... probably not
          • global beauty care charcoal mask -- i haven't gotten around to using this yet, but i probably should... i'll have to get back to yall on this one.
            • repurchase: probably not
          • so susan liquid lipstick in raisin flesh -- i can't 100% remember how i felt about this when i swatched it... i want to say it felt powdery to the touch, but toward the inside of my lips (like in my mouth where it's moist) was sticky whenever i pursed them. it was very strange and kind of annoying.
            • repurchase: no
            • points! laneige sleeping lip mask -- emily noel talked about this very close to the time that i saw this online and i had to redeem for it. i haven't fully decided how i feel about this product yet. i was using it during the daytime..what! and it felt nice, lasted quite a while, and absorbed well. my lips felt moisturized after. but maybe a few hours later, i'd feel dry again. so i'm not sure if it's the product working, or it has those ingredients that make you need to keep applying it.
              • repurchase? maybe
            • sporty ipsy bag -- it's january. the month of failing exercise and weight-loss resolutions. i see what yall are doing!

              review: loreal elvive extraordinary oil

hi guys! sometime in december, i was chosen to receive another influenster* voxbox!! this one contained a new hair oil from loreal! ~Lindsay-chan ^.~
i really enjoyed using this product. one of the claims was that you'd notice a difference in a day or something..? and i wouldn't say that was the case for me, but maybe after two days i did. one of the things that i liked about this product was that it was up to par with some of the more costly leave-in products that i have been using lately. i literally didn't notice a difference, and i mean this in a positive and good way. whenever i don't use leave-in products, my hair feels very coarse and dry and gets frizzy more easily. something to note too about this product, i was consistently using this daily for about a month and a half, which was about the length of the contest period. by the way, the contest period has already ended but i wanted to make its own post anyway. this is saying a lot, since lately, i've been rotating my leave-in products. another thing i liked about this product was that there is no noticeable or strong scent. hair products typically have some kind of scent to them and sometimes they bother me, but this one did not! i also liked how lightweight this oil felt, in comparison to other hair oils i used in the past. it spread quickly and evenly. the packaging, while being typical of most loreal hair products, was good. i also appreciated the pump cap which made it super easy to measurably dispense.
i typically used 6-8 pumps on wet hair, about chin-down and air dried.
i had absolutely no problems with this product and would consider purchasing it again when the need arises.
disclosure: I WAS NOT COMPENSATED FOR THIS POST, HOWEVER I DID RECEIVE SAMPLES FOR MY REVIEW. ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN AND NOT INFLUENCED IN ANY WAY.
